No NCT? Then your motor insurance may be invalid..

Posted 25th September, 2014

When you are dealing with a large number of insurers (as we do) it is interesting to see how they all look at a similar issue, in this case – not having an NCT cert on your car.

Some will allow you a number of days to obtain an NCT, some do not require you to have NCT cert (and will just insist that your vehicle is road worthy) other motor insurers will reduce the value of your vehicle if your car has not passed & others still will deem your policy to be invalid, i.e they will not cover you in the event of a claim.

So the moral of the story is? Make sure you have a valid NCT on your car and if you don’t, contact your insurer or broker immediately to find out what the implications are for not having one.
